Nuka and Noodles
Who: Curie, Paladin Danse, Piper ?
Where: Diamond City
When: Sometime after this.
What: Curie is sitting on the bench just outside of Piper's with a bowl of Power Noodles that she happily bought from Takahashi along with a bottle of Nuka Cola to wash it down with. And she waits for Nat to run and find Piper for them. As much as Diamond City still has a dislike of synths, Curie still loves every chance she has to visit the city.
"I do hope Mademoiselle Wright won't mind helping us with this rather impressive en devour of ours," says Curie with a twinge of hope in her voice. And while the trek to Diamond City was rather uneventful, Curie does hope for a bit more excitement to come their way. "And I do hope this is not a bother for you." She really hopes Danse is up for this, and she knows all too well this is a dangerous thing for Danse to do since his exile from The Brotherhood. And with the Prydwen still visibly moored at the airport despite the heavy clouds, Curie still has to wonder what has drawn Maxson's ire this time.
But she lowers her head, and she stirs her noodles with her chopsticks before she eats another mouthful just as a drop of rain falls to the ground at her feet. "Oh dear, perhaps we ought to wait for Piper inside."

His power armor is hung at the power armor station waiting for some adhesive to dry from a few minor repairs he has carried out. Keeping his armor in tip top condition is very important to him - especially now he can't just ask the Brotherhood for replacement parts.
So far they have managed to avoid the Brotherhood patrols. He had been worried they might bump into one on the way into Diamond City, but Lady Luck seemed to favour them for now. The sight of the Prydwen on the horizon is a constant reminder of all he has lost though. It pains his heart every time his gaze turns to it.
He glances over at Curie as the first few drops of rain fall. "Afraid we might rust?" The drops quickly grow in size, falling heavier and faster. Taking shelter is definitely a good idea. He discards his noodle bowl to offer his hand. "Shall we?"

She figures Piper won't mind them getting out of the rain while they wait for her. And as she places her bowl down besides her, she takes hold of Danse's hand and she tries to think what one does in a situation like this. Everything is still very new, especially when it comes to the finer things that come to being human. And she doesn't want to draw attention from the surly guard who is wandering around with his trusty swatter.
"And hopefully it won't be long until Mademoiselle Piper joins us," Curie's excitement to see Piper again is evident from the tone in her voice. "And I'm going to try and convince her that her readers would love to read more about science."
no subject
"I am sure more science would make her publications far more interesting than whatever gossip she can scramble together or stories she can fabricate. There are so many people out there who could do so much if just given the opportunity to learn."
He offers her a smile. After all, her excitement and joy is so infectious.

"And to think Diamond City has the best school in all of The Commonwealth. And as much as I admire Edena, I find the lack of educational centers to be most troubling," says Curie, as she walks over towards the door which leads to the inside of Piper's office and home.
But the talk of the downfall of education leaves Curie feeling a little down, and the smile on her face fades. "I wonder if things were any different inside of The Brotherhood or even The Institute."

Danse tries the door to Piper's place and pushes it open when he finds it unlocked, holding it open for Curie like the gentleman he is.
"You would make a marvelous teacher."
no subject
"Maybe we can pay Haylen a visit, that is if we can find out if she's not at the police station." Curie hasn't forgotten where Danse cannot go. "But I believe there is much more to teaching children than having knowledge."
And of course Edena has more than just herself, but her partner as well who are teaching Diamond City's young ones. And perhaps the children of other nearby settlements.
no subject
"You have a warmth and enthusiasm that would draw people in, make them want to learn more about the world. The way you always manage to stay so positive and happy... the world needs more of that. I believe you would make an excellent teacher."

Piper is in need of a juicy story, and with The Institute gone, she has been running out of the good stuff. "But anyway, how are my two of my favorite synths doing?" She asks as she flops down on her couch, and crosses her legs together.
"And I also hope you're both keeping Blue out of trouble."
no subject
She pauses when she sees the door open, and she turns around on the balls of her feet at the sound of Piper's voice and she gasps. "I can assure you that Monsieur Dance and I are not a couple!" Way for Curie to miss the point, and perhaps she has a long way to go before she can teach a school of human and ghoul children.
"We're just friends who are looking to better The Commonwealth!"
no subject
"Our friend attracts trouble wherever they go. We do what we can to keep them safe, but it is almost a full time job."
no subject
"That sounds like our, Blue. Just let them know I haven't seen them in awhile, and they owe me some stories." She really loves having a great source of Commonwealth gossip, and Blue always provides when they visit Diamond City for supplies.
"Alright, so what is it you two need my help with?"
no subject
She thinks for a moment, and she looks up to Danse, and she hasn't forgotten their original mission. But this one seems far more important. "Not only will we be mapping The Commonwealth, I wish to search places for lost technical documents, and any undamaged Pre-War books."

He cradles his bowl of noodles. "It will be quite the undertaking. A lot of travelling." Something to keep his mind off his personal struggles. Exactly what he needs.

"A power armor frame while costly could prove very useful. It'll make travel swifter and offer additional protection." And Curie just happens to be in the company of someone who knows how to maintain power armor so it lasts.
no subject
"Waiting is good, but if we're to buy a power armor frame, we ought to do so now while the market is still open." She pushes the door open, and she steps outside while holding the door for Danse.
"I also wonder if I can add some modifications, such as more storage." Poor Curie will be picking up every possible flower, taking every old world book, and sample as she can handle.

He ruffles his hair as he wanders across the market place towards Commonwealth Weaponry in the hopes that they have a power armor frame in stock. If not, then a detour to Goodneighbor might be on the cards, even if the place combines almost all the things Danse despises.
"Additional storage for supplies is always useful. The world is a dangerous place, being unprepared makes it even more so."
no subject
And over the crowds, she can hear Moe trying to sell a Swatter, Myrna trying to point out that she won't sell anything to a synth, and then there is good ol'Arturo who is offering protection to anyone who needs it.
"I just hope we have enough caps and supplies to buy the armor, and the supplies we need to make some improvements." She stops for a bit. "Once we find pieces of armor during our journey."
no subject
"Power armor can be highly modified. Additional storage should be simple enough to implement, given the right tools and the right components."
Danse retrieves his bag of caps and hands it over to Curie. She should be the one to have the enjoyment and excitement of purchasing the frame. It is a big step.

"And I got a wonderful Overcharged Automatic Laser Rifle, complete with a gyro compensating lens and glow sights!" He is going to try to sell off his best piece of gear to someone who looks like he has money.
And his eyes drift down towards Curie. "And for you, I have just the thing." He bends down to pull out a combat shotgun. "Nobody should ever wander the wastelands without one of these!"
Curie looks at the shotgun and she ponders for just a moment. "Mmm. No thanks. I'm looking to purchase a power armor frame, monsieur. And we also require some fusion cell ammo." For as sweet as she is, Curie knows when it is time to let her business side show. And she then turns around to Danse, and she wonders if he is going to need anything. And of course, it dawns on her. "We will also need some fusion cores!"
no subject
"Yes. We need as many fusion cores as you have in stock. We have quite a journey ahead of us."
Danse does find himself looking at the Laser Rifle though, even though he is perfectly happy with the one he already owns.
no subject
As for Curie, she looks at the shotgun and she picks it up from the stand to look at it. "I find laser weaponry to be more to my tastes." And she does have her laser rifle back with the rest of her belongings. "And I'm sure, I can find one of these in the wastes."
She turns to look to Danse having not miss him looking at the rifle. "Do you wish to purchase the laser rifle?" She asks. "I think it can prove useful besides your own weapon."
no subject
He shakes he head. "However, I do not need another. Our caps are better spent on more essential items."
Once the power armor frame is brought out, Danse smiles at Curie. "Your very own frame. How does it feel?"
no subject
Arturo steps out from Curie's suit, and he motions to it with his hand. "It is all yours for 3000 caps." They aren't cheap, and are neither the fusion cores or ammo they are buying.
But Curie quickly hands Arturo the caps, and she then heads over to the frame and she steps in. She wiggles the metal fingers and she squats down as if she were trying on a pair of jeans she dug up. "A bit tight, but I suppose that is normal." She looks over to Danse, as she straightens herself up and she smiles. "Oooh! I do like that I feel a lot taller, and this will do very good when it comes to reaching items on very tall selves."
no subject
"You will get used to the confinement. It can feel a little claustrophobic at first."
no subject
Clump. Clump. Clump. Clump.
"It isn't very stealthy, but I do not think that is the point of power armor." Curie looks at Danse, and she nods her head. "I can see how that can be a problem. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. That's if we ever find a helmet."
She stops in front of him, balls her hands into a fist and flexes them again. "But it is still very tight."
